Arlington is harder to generalise about than most of the metroplex, because it was not built in one go.
North Arlington has post-war housing from the fifties and sixties, much of it on shallow slabs poured to standards nobody would use today. The centre filled in through the seventies and eighties. South Arlington kept expanding into the nineties and two-thousands. Three eras, three sets of construction practice, on soil that varies as you move west toward Fort Worth.
What that means in practice is that we cannot tell you what your house is doing based on your postcode. An older north Arlington home and a newer one off Green Oaks can show identical cracks for completely different reasons, and the repair is different in each case.
