Our story begins with Johan Jacob Brose in 1863, where for three generations, my ancestors were master blacksmiths in Germany. These skilled craftsmen didn’t just forge metal; they forged a legacy of values that would shape our family for generations to come. When they immigrated to America, they brought with them not only their tools but also their unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and hard work.
These German values – precision, reliability, and pride in craftsmanship – were passed down like precious heirlooms. My grandfather, whom we lovingly called GP, inherited them from his blacksmith father. He, in turn, instilled these principles in my dad, who then taught them to me.

At just seven years old, I helped my dad build our first house, just as he had done with GP at my age. This hands-on experience wasn’t just about construction; it was a rite of passage, a way of passing down our German ancestors’ dedication to their craft.
My father may not have left me a fortune in money, but he gave me something far more valuable – the German virtues of our forebears. He taught me to take immense pride in my work and to view my word as an unbreakable bond. “Ein Mann, ein Wort” – “A man, his word” – became our family’s creed.
Over the years, I watched my dad embody these principles. No matter the challenges, he always kept his promises, standing firm like the old German oaks. This unwavering integrity, born in German soil and nurtured with American grit, became the bedrock of our future business philosophy.

My entry into foundation repair came unexpectedly. As a contractor and real estate investor, I needed to repair six house foundations simultaneously. What I discovered shocked me – an industry completely lacking standards, with quotes ranging wildly from $1,500 to $25,000 for the same job!
